Despite decarbonization trends, record volumes of coal mining and consumption highlight the importance of the integrated development of deposits. Given the continued high levels of extraction, transitioning to a model of comprehensive coal deposit utilization has become critically important. The results of an analysis of bismuth extraction from monomineral fractions and coal fractions of varying density in the Western Donbas are presented. Bismuth is almost entirely concentrated in the light fraction (88–100%), averaging 97%. It has been established that the bismuth content in certain coal seams significantly substantially exceeds current clarke values (average crustal abundance).
